Moody Movers - Top Ten List:
Most frequently asked questions in preparation for your move

1. Can we leave our clothes in drawers?
Please remove clothes & assorted items from dressers, chests of drawers, armoires, cabinets, end tables, night stands, etc… This allows us to safely move these pieces. Doubled up large plastic bags work well for clothes, linens, pillows, etc…

2. What do we do with our hanging clothes?
We have wardrobe boxes available for rent or purchase. Let us know how many feet of hanging clothes are in your closets so we can determine how many you need.

3. How are my beds going to be protected from getting dirty?
We recommend plastic bed bags for all of your mattresses & box springs, unless they are old or are going to be replaced sometime soon. This keeps your bedding clean. What size beds do you have?

4. How is my furniture taken care of during the move?
All wooden furniture is protected with quilted moving blankets. Most upholstered and leather furniture is wrapped in plastic. All of your household items are handled with as much care as possible.

5. Do I need to disconnect all of the appliances?
We can disconnect washers & most dryers. The valve for Refrigerator ice maker lines should be turned off. It is important to have gas dryers disconnected by a professional or your gas company.

6. How does the estimate work?
For every move: Homes, Town Homes, Apartments & Smaller Jobs, we ask you to respond to our Request For Information. Please make a brief inventory listing all significant household items along with your best guess of how many assorted size boxes you may have. Also, we need to know how you want pictures, lamps, & hanging clothes handled. Will you pack these yourselves? Do you need some help? Lastly, it is important to find out about stairs, elevators, long walks, access…

7. Do I tip the movers & packers? If so… how much?
The crewmembers here at Moody Movers work extremely hard in all kinds of weather & sometimes under stressful circumstances. They go above and beyond to ensure a smooth move almost every time out. We offer a valuable service here in our community, handling your prized possessions with absolute care & sharing courtesy, kindness & trust with all our clients. If you are satisfied with our service, please consider a $10-$20 gratuity per man on smaller jobs & a $20-$50 for a full day’s job.

8. Are my household items insured during the move or do I need to provide my own coverage through my homeowners insurance?
We provide basic coverage of $.60 on a move at no additional cost. Supplemental insurance coverage is available at an additional charge. *(Refer to MM insurance information which explains your options.) You may also consult with your insurance agent & ask if moving insurance is included in your homeowners or renter’s policy.

*Please Note: Valuables, legal documents, jewelry, currency, passport & all important papers should be handled by you personally. Keep them somewhere safe or in your immediate possession during the transition into your new home.

9. How do I pay for the job?
We accept final payment in cash or check for local moves within Bucks County. For moves outside of the area, payment is required in cash, cashier’s check, or bank money order. We do not accept any credit cards.

10. Relax. You hired a great moving company to perform your move.

Due to the sustained cost for diesel fuel, it is necessary to implement a fuel surcharge based on the Department Of Energy’s average diesel fuel price per gallon for the Central Atlantic Region.
